custom oil portraits painted on wood blocks: Reasonably sized, realistically priced

How to commission a portrait

Choose and purchase your portrait in a specific size. Fill out the form and I will contact you to talk about your hopes for the portrait and to choose an image to work from. Depending on the wait list, the portrait proof will be sent to you within 2 to 6 weeks. If you don’t like the portrait, I send you a full refund. If you do like it, I send you the portrait!

  • I have a fairly particular style, but there is some variation in how my paintings look. If you see something on the website that appeals to you, let me know and I can try to emulate that effect in your painting by working with you to choose a source photo that would be appropriate.

  • Portraits are painted in oil on gessoed wood blocks. Two sizes are available - 3.5x5.5 inches, and 5.5x7.5 inches. Wood blocks allow these small portraits to be displayed either hanging on the wall, or standing upright on a flat surface.

  • Capturing a likeness is of primary importance to me. Even so, if you don't think I have done a good job with the resemblance (or if you don't like it for any other reason), you have the option to reject the proof and I will send you a full refund with no fuss.

why would i want a portrait anyway - ain’t that just for fancy folk?

Not any more! Kate gears her artwork to be reasonably affordable, given its small size. For $350 you could have a small family portrait to put on the wall (or on a shelf, etc.)

If you are fancy, order individual portraits of all your family members as well as your ancestors! Just think of what an amazing installation that would be…
